About
Since 2012, I’ve helped build brands as a Social Media Director and Senior Editor in New York City’s creative industries specializing in music, streetwear and footwear.
I grew up in hip-hop’s de facto blog era. As I scoured the internet for the latest and greatest in the endless stream of mixtape releases, it became clear that crate digging and sonic discovery would be a lifelong passion. I moved to New York City over a decade ago with the main goal of getting myself involved in the city’s rap renaissance by any means necessary. That creative scene is where I found a sense of belonging and purpose.
I spent my first few years learning film directing, screenwriting, video editing and photography at the School of Visual Arts. I wanted to be a dual, even triple-threat — someone who could help on the set of music videos, photograph artists while conducting in-depth interviews and writing articles for major publications. After over five years in the footwear industry helping develop branded content with musicians and athletes centered around their latest sneaker collaborations with Sneaker News and Footlocker Inc, the opportunity to write about music full-time materialized by the end of 2018.
At HYPEBEAST, I built out the music vertical’s original content, breaking up-and-coming artists on the website through feature editorials, original video series for social media, and handled other editorial work like HYPEBEAST’s official playlist and end-of-week podcast.
I currently serve as Director of Social at UnitedMasters, championing independent artists’ stories and helping the artist marketing department source new talent while crafting engaging project rollouts. I’m also the acting Managing Editor at Passion of the Weiss, the last great relic of hip- hop’s blog era. I work with up-and-coming writers to provide in-depth edits and develop feature stories for emerging talent.
